The following database projects are examples of the types of database services we offer. Please contact us to discuss your specific project needs.

Enterprise-wide Data Model — Anchorage Water and Wastewater Utility

The goal of this project was to develop an enterprise-wide data model to facilitate integration of database and GIS systems. The project entailed developing conceptual and logical data models based on data fields in existing systems. All products were developed using Oracle CASE tools.

Statewide Database Architecture — Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation

RDI developed alternative scenarios for building a statewide architecture to share data. Our technology recommendations addressed issues such as replication of data, network bandwidth, regional vs. home-office data ownership, and the problems associated with sharing data between multiple offices.

TAPS Quality Bank Software and System Support

RDI developed and operates database applications for computing financial adjustments for mixing various grades of oil for four Quality Banks in two major oil pipeline systems. The databases track samples, calculate crude oil assays, determine crude oil values, and handle bank transactions worth millions of dollars every month. RDI developed thorough quality control procedures and worked with Quality Bank auditors and bank personnel to ensure accurate Quality Bank adjustments. Currently we are Web-enabling the entire application.

Data Management Application — Alaska Native Regional Corporation

RDI created a database application to manage data for a leading Alaska Native regional corporation. This system allows the cataloging of data, regardless of format. It offers an easy way to locate information, whether on tape, within a computer file system, or on paper. The project included creating forms, database security, and user maintenance. It also includes both user and technical documentation.

Environmental Monitoring Database — Greens Creek Mining Co.

This database provides a method for tracking data for disposal of marine and freshwater effluent and tailings. Requirements included monitoring effluent and runoff, saltwater quality, and air quality by using piezometers on the tailings dam, plus tailings monitoring. Numerous parameters were tracked to ensure regulatory compliance. Reports were prepared for various government agencies, including tabular summaries and time-series graphs.
