    Bear Remien

    Lead Systems Architect Anchorage, AK

Anchorage is the perfect place for Bear. He loves winter, dislikes heat, and he can make it to several trailheads in about 15 minutes for some after-work mountain biking or Nordic skiing. Prior to joining Resource Data in 2011, Bear was in the Peace Corps for two years teaching American history and maintaining a small university IT network in The Gambia (likely where he developed his dislike for heat). He is impressed by the talented coworkers he works with every day at Resource Data, and as a dad, the company’s commitment to work-life balance.

A few of Bear’s favorite things

    • Food If the ingredients are fresh and the flavors are good, I’ll probably like it.
    • Music I’m pretty omnivorous. I listen to electronic, vocal jazz, hip-hop, and classical the most right now.
    • Video game Portal 2 is probably my all-time favorite. Marathon, from back in the day. More recently, Deep Rock Galactic is excellent.
    • Board game Lords of Waterdeep, Azul, and Isle of Skye
    • Movie Sneakers, MoRouge, Mad Max Fury Road, Lost in Translation
    • Book Neal Stephenson’s Anathem.

    Systems Engineer Anchorage, AK

Living in the quiet neighborhood of Wasilla, Alaska, Alvin finds joy in the peaceful surroundings and the close-knit community. Growing up in Northwestern Alaska, in the small village of Noorvik, he has always appreciated the tranquility of his home state.

At Resource Data, Alvin thrives on the varied projects and the constant engagement with different technologies, some of which he has never touched before. The challenge of choosing a favorite project is a testament to the diverse and interesting work he’s involved in. What keeps him at Resource Data? The people he works with and the office atmosphere they’ve created, especially as the hub for the Systems Engineering team.

When not working, you’ll most likely find him immersed in a book, adding to his collection, or experimenting with home-brewed beer and mead. He’s even considering venturing into winemaking!

A few of Alvin's favorite things

    • Food Pizza or Steak
    • Music Mostly rock music
    • Video game Eve online
    • Board game Not a board game, but he plays Magic: The Gathering and Warhammer 40k

    Ringo Tyson

    Sr. Programmer Anchorage, AK

Raised on AC/DC and the Beatles, Ringo enjoys rock music including progressive, industrial, and psychedelic flavors, as well as a little electronic and some Japanese pop every now and then. In his free time, he noodles around on his own bass guitar or plays video games – if another Metroid game is released, he’s taking a staycation and no one will hear from him for a week. But until then, he’ll be developing web and mobile applications, designing databases, and otherwise using his stellar programming skills to solve our clients’ biggest challenges.

A few of Ringo’s favorite things

    • Food Beecher’s Mac and Cheese at Pike Place Market, or mom’s homemade potato salad
    • Movie Blade Runner
    • Book Freakonomics by Steven D. Levitt & Stephen J. Dubner
